What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is a natural approach to health that supports the body’s ability to heal by restoring balance between the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems. It promotes overall wellness by ensuring these systems work together efficiently.

Chiropractors primarily treat musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those affecting the spine, by using a variety of techniques like spinal manipulation and adjustments to relieve restrictions and improve function. They commonly treat low back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain, but also address other conditions like whiplash, sciatica, and even some sports-related injuries.

Conditions Commonly Treated by Chiropractors:

Back and Neck Pain: Chiropractors use adjustments and manipulations to relieve pain and improve function, especially in the lower and upper back, and neck.

Headaches: Chiropractic care can help reduce the frequency and severity of tension headaches and migraines by addressing underlying spinal misalignments.

Joint Pain: Chiropractors can help manage pain and improve mobility in joints like the knees, hips, shoulders, and elbows, especially in cases of osteoarthritis.

Whiplash: Chiropractors can help restore neck and back function after whiplash injuries sustained in car accidents.

Sciatica: Chiropractic adjustments can help relieve pain caused by sciatic nerve compression, which can radiate from the back down the legs.

Sports Injuries: Chiropractors can help treat sprains, strains, and joint issues resulting from sports activities.

Other Conditions: Chiropractors may also address carpal tunnel syndrome, scoliosis, and even some digestive issues.

A chiropractic adjustment is a safe, natural technique used to restore proper movement to spinal joints that are restricted in motion. By applying a gentle, targeted force to specific areas of the spine, chiropractors help reduce tension, improve range of motion, relieve pressure on the nervous system, and support the body’s natural healing process. The result? Improved spinal function, reduced pain, and promote better overall health and wellness.

Once your treatment plan is ready, your chiropractor will guide you through your first adjustment. You’ll lie on an adjustment table (some parts may tilt or “drop” to help us reach target areas), and we’ll apply quick, short, precise force to the affected joints.Yes, you might hear a few pops or cracks, totally normal! That’s just those trapped gases releasing. It’s a bit like cracking your knuckles, but with a purpose (and a license). Most people feel relief pretty quickly. You might be a little sore for a day or so afterward, like you hit the gym for the first time in a while, but that typically fades fast with most patients experiencing lasting relief.
